The Stiperstones landscape was created by generations
who lived on the hill and and earned a living from it.
It was a thriving close community.

I would be interested in any family history, photographs or stories of life on the Stiperstones to include here.
The colours of the website are the purple of the Stiperstones
(Erica carnea and Calluna vulgaris) and the grey is the Quartzite
of the exposed rocks on the ridge.
The green is the valleys of grass and trees.
About me

I was born in Crows Nest, Snailbeach and spent my formative years in Stiperstones School taught by Mrs Howell. My fathers family came from the South Marches but my mother was born at Bleakmoor Flat, her parents were from The Paddock and Crows Nest Dingle and their families were from the Stiperstones Hill and surrounds going back at least 5 generations.
